Write at least 250 words.

Whether it is crucial to group children with mixed abilities and social-economy backgrounds in the same academic is a controversial issue. Although the assurance of children from a wide array of capabilities and various milieus would benefit one’s cultural knowledge, what I believe is that it would be problematic, since bullying and isolation might be the possible outcomes.

On the one hand, learning in a mixing environment act as a precursor to more advanced knowledge. In other words, students who exposed to a diversity of cultures and languages at young ages have fat chances to interact and socialize with many from different parts of the world. By choosing to learn in the same course with an African, for instance, one Asian student would indulge himself in the rhythms of the koras, African’s most famous stringed instrument; at the same time, the other would understand the method of using chopsticks. Mingling with students with mixed abilities and backgrounds also affects a student’s choice of post-graduate profession, as well as widen the global network of contacts, which will catalyze future careers. For these reasons, co-existing school is a great opportunity for ones to broaden their horizons.

On the other hand, mixed schools are problematic in several ways, including loneliness and bullying. Some children, notably older ones, are likely to be wayward and tease others who are not as fortunate as them. What is more, many will be reluctant to form groups and hang out with friends from different cultures. As a result, isolation is inevitable. Hence, it will frustrate one’s study and cause the increasing drop-out rate that worsens each year. Put it simply, to avoid detrimental affairs, schools should not mix children based on their abilities and backgrounds.

In sum, schools with mixed educational spaces are crucial for children’s development. While the method might facilitate one’s multicultural knowledge and future career, this could as well be harmful in reality. In my opinion, studying in the same institution as people with various abilities and milieus is not always the ultimate approach.
