Writing Task 2. Please Review It

Question: Should computers and tablets completely replace books in schools and universities? Discuss both of views and give your opinion.

It is true that advanced technology has a profound impact on education. While some people argue that students should switch totally from books to computers or tablets to read, I believe that printed books play a vital role in the learning approach of every student.

On the one hand, advocates of e-books may argue that digital devices can give students the privilege to learn flexibly. A laptop or a tablet can contain a gigantic source of e-books that learners can bring anywhere and open to read when they have spare time. Moreover, students could take advantage of quick access to information just by one click since a huge number of books have been available online. Therefore, students can save time and energy to seek appropriate information that sometimes was hidden in a giant library.

However, I firmly support that books play an essential part in every student's life that could not be replaced by some modern machines for several reasons. Firstly, reading paper books is an imperative habit leading to a successful learning approach. Learners tend to pay higher attention when they read printed books rather than e-books since there is a myriad of distractions on advanced digital devices such as films, music, and games. Secondly, Spending many hours to glue eyes in front of the screen has a detrimental effect on learners' health since they can bear the risk of some health problems such as short-sightedness and obesity. Finally, it is impossible for every student or school to afford computers or laptops to read e-books due to the high price of these devices, especially in developing countries.

In conclusion, high-tech gadgets can be beneficial for students in some ways such as searching for information, but they cannot replace entirely paper books in classrooms.
