WRITING TASK 2 - NUMBER 3

Countries are becoming more and more similar because people are able to buy the same products anywhere in the world. Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

It is true that people can easily buy products of different countries without having to travel to those nations as countries are becoming less different in terms of goods. I, personally, think that it brings various benefits to countries and their citizens.

On the one hand, the fact that foreign products can be found in other countries is likely to have some drawbacks. One of them is that domestic goods might be outweighed be exotic products. Nowadays, people have a tendency to use products from foreign countries, which means domestic goods are becoming less popular. For example, in Viet Nam, fast foods such as pizza or fried chicken have gained in popularity, and Vietnamese people seem to have lunch or dinner with this kind of food in KFC or Lotteria stores. Therefore, traditional meals with Vietnamese products are not usually made.

On the other hand, being able to buy the same products anywhere in the world is beneficial to both people and countries. Firstly, people would have a variety of choice when it comes to any kind of products. They can purchase what they want without having to travel to the countries that produce the products of their desire. Fashion can be a prime example in this case. Nowadays, in Viet Nam, people can buy clothes of HM or Zara in shopping mall with ease because there are more and more brand stores to meet the demand of Vietnamese. Secondly, commercial trade between countries would develop the economies and the relationships of those nations. Importing and exporting products are being promoted by all nations in the world. When citizens in a country are able to buy and use products of other countries, they would gain in-depth knowledge about those nations, and relationships between countries may be promoted.

In conclusion, products of different countries being found in any country is beneficial to people, the relationships and the economies of all countries as well.
