Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

These days, average life expectancy is increasing. Many studies show that children now can live longer than their predecessor because of the improvements of science and medicine. However, we need to consider not just its benefits but also its adverse effect.
People only have one life to live, and if they can have more time to enjoy their life, do their tasks or fulfill their dreams, it is completely good things. As a result, life satisfaction levels will increase. Besides, expanding lifespan is a motivation for the development of medicine. Doctors, scientists have given themselves on experiments because they desire to find the cures for every kind of disease. Therefore, they and other people have no longer suffered the pain. Furthermore, some people can contribute more to their community and country if they can live longer.
Notwithstanding its positive implications, as people live longer and the populations grow older in many countries, several related problems can be anticipated. There will be more people of retirement age which leads to lack of young workforce. In additions, longer life expectancy many creates the burden to family, society, and environment. The rate of illness increase with the growth of the ages and old people need to be take care any time. Longevity may is the worst thing for those who do not have children to rely on or cannot afford to go to nursing homes.
In conclusion, it is the truth that longevity is a symbol of civilization and a better life. However, longer lifespan may have negative effect ranging from a large number of old populations to social problems. In my perspectives, people should live with contentment whether they can live longer or not.
