Writing task 2 in Ielts test

Task 2. Many people say that universities should only offer to young students with highest marks, others say they should accept people with all ages, even if they did not do well. Discuss both views and give your opinions.

There has been much debate about if universities should give a chance for all people who are not good in studying or just accept young students with highest marks. While it is argued that it is more difficult to make decision, I believe that universities are place for everyone who wants to earn knowledge and develop themselves.

On the one hand, it cannot be denied that young individuals who achieve outstanding outcomes can be easy to acquire knowledge at a university and have ability to get the higher education. Young people pick up and assimilate new transferred information from lectures quickly, they may also spend long period of time on learning as their high concentration. Therefore, the youths can accumulate knowledge to build up higher levels of understanding and make it become basic foundation to study master or even PhD courses in short time.

On the other part of given statement, older students who do not have well scholastic results will make effort to get their own achievements in tertiary education. To be clearer, the older people who experienced on working will know exactly needed subjects to enhance their specified field. That is the reason why they can focus on a target and study hard to get what they need. As a result, joining in universities will support them to have basic grounding in their major and apply it on job or real life.

To sum up, the main purpose of universities is to provide deep knowledge in specified field so it is the chance for all people as long as they have the ability and the objective in learning.
