Writing task 2 IELTS the development of the online shopping

Hi every one, I am about to take the IELTS test. Writing is being one of my worst parts. Therefore, I have been practising it every day. I hope that someone can help me by giving their feedback on my essay.

Today's question is that:

An increasing number of people are buying what they need online?

What are the advantages and disadvantages for both individual and companies to shop online?

My essay:

In today’s modern world, the Internet plays an important role in the development of the information technology age, some people argue online shopping is becoming more and more popular when it can easily find anything they want through websites. This essay will discuss advantages and disadvantages for both online shopper and stores.

There is a main reason why people prefer purchasing online to going to a store. These days, people become increasingly busy with work and their family, leading to shopping online being a good way for them to save time. In fact, just simply with a few mouse clicks, people can buy almost everything they need without wasting time to go to stores. Nevertheless, shopping online can also lead to a bad purchase because some products, such as clothes or footwear, are very difficult for shoppers to estimate the size of products properly or check the quality of them.

When it comes to shopping stores, online shopping can bring many benefits this is due to the fact that shop owners do not need to rent an ideal location for the business which the monthly cost is often extremely expensive. But in contrast, they will have to pay the shipping cost. Besides, the website consuming products is easy to update to attract customers. However, the biggest downside may be that shoppers can not try their items before making a decision. Therefore, they are unlikely to satisfy to the reality of products and decide to return it to the supplier. As the result, the transaction is unsuccessful while suppliers still have to pay for the shipper.

In conclusion, online shopping is one of the great developments of today’s society. Despite some disadvantages, people still prefer using it rather than going to the stores.
