Some people think that art is an essential subject for children at school while other think it is a waste of time?
Discuss both sides and give your opinion?
In the today’s world, education plays an important role in the development of children in the future. It is argued that school children should focus on other subjects rather than wasting time on art. In my opinion, I completely disagree with this view and believe that art still has its own merits.
There are several reasons why people thought that pupils do not waste time on studying the art subject at school. First, there are some other subjects are extremely necessary to meet the needs of the information technology era’s development these days, such as mathematics or technology. Therefore, it is considered that school should place more emphasis on this subject instead of studying the arts. Secondly, art is a spiritual dish, which can be too difficult for students to fully understand, leading to the waste of time to study. In fact, many students are often not interested in art, and they often do not do homework for this subject.
In spite of the above arguments, I support the view that art is also in the same as vital as other subjects at school for children. Because art represents for culture, heritage and history of the country, which serves to educate people, and they will acquire more knowledge about their ancestors and the country’s traditions. In addition, art can help to have more creative abilities in order to create works of art in the future, which is beneficial for humanity this is due to the fact that artworks can help people relax and relieve the pressure after hard working days. As a result, statues and sculptures appear everywhere in the public spaces.
In conclusion, although there are some other subjects that seem more important to school children, I strongly believe that art is also an essential subject for them to broaden their horizons and enrich their knowledge.
