Writing task 2 ielts

Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

The question of whether popular sport stars are deserved to receive a higher income or not has always been on topical debate. While many people assume that it is inequitable to offer sports professionals much more money than other crucial jobs, others believe that it is absolutely justified. This essay will discuss both sides of view before giving my own perspective.

Regarding the first point of view, it is understandable to say that paying well-known sport players higher salary is unfair to other careers. Several professions such as doctors and teachers, for example, are sometimes devalued by being paid less money than those of sport stars, although they also make great contributions to the community. As the result, the money should be well-spent in order to honor other jobs which save people’s lives or educate young generations, rather than just entertaining. Moreover, professional sport players sometimes use their earnings in an inappropriate way. Many of them have corrupted in scandals or involved in illegal drugs or even committed crimes. Because of their reputation, they can easily set bad examples to children and have negative impacts to their fans in particular and the society in general.

On the other hand, I believe that it is worth to pay the sport stars large sum of money. Firstly, to become a successful player, many of them have to devote all their livings and take risks in many fields such as health and privacy time. In order to bring the sport lovers outstanding performances and competition, they must pay arduous effort and sometimes their lives are even in danger. Recently, Donsay White, a famous boxer was beaten to dead right in the stage, and he is just one of numerous extreme sport stars who have sacrificed their lives to sport. Secondly, their career cannot last forever like other long-term professions. For this reason, they need more money to afford living demands and save up for future. Finally, besides the poor examples, many sport stars use their income to donate to the charity, which saves many miserable lives and makes invaluable contribution to the society.

In conclusion, although many people disagree about the income they deserved, I believe that giving successful sports professionals a vast opportunity for earnings has considerable merits due to three mentioned reasons.
