Writing task 2 environment please help me

Environmental protection is the responsibility of politicians, not individuals as individuals can do too little. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some people assert that the obligation of preserving the environment only belongs to the governments as they feel that environmental problems are too complex to be controlled through individual actions. From my perspective, I disagree with this statement because I believe individuals play an indispensable role in protecting the environment.

First, individuals play a part in determining the environmental conditions of their living areas. Any environmentally-unfriendly individual practices such as littering can make their neighbourhood polluted. Hence, if every individual people is environmentally irresponsible, larger areas would be polluted, and when it reaches the national level, perhaps the most powerful government might unable to protect the environment. For example, New Delhi the most polluted city in the world and despite the government’s effort of reversing the environmental degradation, the environmental quality of this city is still getting worse because of the lack of responsibilities of citizens.

Second, there are various measures can be taken at the individual level to save the environment such as consuming reusable products. By using these green products people can cut down on the amount of disposable waste that is detrimental to the environment. In fact, due to the excessive use of unrecyclable products and the lack of environmental responsibilities of residents, TO LICH river in HA NOI is heavily contaminated. Furthermore, individuals can protect the environment by planting more trees in their garden. It is scientifically proven that trees reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, thus, alleviating the greenhouse effect.

In conclusion, although some people believe that protecting the environment is the government's responsibility, i think that it is the obligation of both individuals and politicians.
