As many risky sports incorporate the presence of physical dangers, some people opine that these kinds of sports should be prohibited by the authority. However, I believe that people should have a right to engage any sports and activities they like.

First of all, the prohibition of extreme sport could infringe upon people’s right to achieve their self-fulfilment. Granted, we are evolved for exploration and risk rather than for an urbanized and sedentary lifestyle. Thus, perilous sports give us an opportunity to explore our limits and increase our self-esteem. For example, my uncle’s ambition was to claim the peak of Panxipang mountain, and he finally achieved that in the year 2014. He said fulfilling this goal was an exhilarated feeling he had. Currently, he becomes more confident and set other goals that are bigger.

Furthermore, so-called extreme sports are not as dangerous as people’s imagination. Indeed, by undertaking rigorous training and being well-prepared, people not only would prevent potentially tragic outcomes but also can improve their health and skills. For instance, mountain climbers can probably fight for their living in extreme conditions better than those not engaging any dangerous sports. Furthermore, it is undeniable that these sports often related to outside activities in that people could gain more knowledge about the natural world. Therefore, if these sports are outlawed, we would be distanced superficially form nature. Leading to the lack of understanding about nature. Hence, a ban on dangerous sports is totally unreasonable.

In conclusion, although risky sports incorporate unforeseeable dangers, I believe that maintaining these sports is necessary because it makes us become more confident and knowledgeable.
