It is argued by some that youngsters should get familiar with the contrast among good and bad at an early age so, discipline is important to assist them with realizing this differentiation. While I tend towards the perspective that kids must gain proficiency with the distinction among right and wrong since their childhood, would have to support that reprimand is superfluous in this process.
On the one hand, we can observe that children were not born with a sense of right and wrong, so it is up to parents and teachers to teach them the difference. If they are not taught these values, they will not know how to act in the world around them. Some parents may not know how to teach their children since they themselves did not learn it when they grew up and that’s really a big loss for their babies. These kids may end up becoming a criminal or bad people in the future because of their lack of a clear vision of the world.
On the other hand, there are many different ways to teach children without having to use punishments. These range from natural consequences like taking away toys, to awards for good behavior, or even using an award system where kids can earn points for good behavior. There is a lot of research that shows that children don’t need punishment to learn the right things. Instead, they learn more effectively through positive reinforcement and consequences. One of the best ways for parents to do this is by giving their children choices when they make a mistake. For example, if your child breaks an object, you can ask them what they would like you to do with it.
In the light of aforesaid factors, I am convinced that learning about the differences between right and wrong is necessary for kids to help them have a clear view of the world around them, but punishment is unnecessary for their maturation process. We should take the aforementioned measure that is to let the kids make decisions of what they would do to solve the mistake they’ve made.
