Answer:
Besides making money, businesses are attributed to taking social responsibilities. I totally agree with this idea for these following reasons.
Firstly, once conducting a business, entrepreneurs have the obvious responsibility to make money and produce profits to develop and to ensure their employees' life with reasonable salary and working enviroment. In that way, they can build up skillful and qualified human resources for the prosperity of their companies. Accordingly, once growing the prosperous business, they can expand their business and provide more blue-collar and white-collar jobs for the community. Once expand their business, they will have to pay more taxes for the government for expenditure on school, hospital and other infrastructure investments, which contributes to the prosperity of the country.
Secondly, it is important that businessmen be aware of their social responsibilities through their environment protection and their charity work. Factories should take into consideration the cost-effective recycling process instead of their irresponsible disposal of waste to the surrounding. Companies should seriously consider their future sustainable development. For example, logging companies should have plan to grow new plants in parallel with their timber exploitation. Businessmen's social responsibility is also expressed by their charity work for the community with donation or sponsorship and scholarship financing. For example, a lot of famous brands sponsor the TV program "Golden Tambourine" in Vietnam with a couple of cows as present for the poor farmers to raise. It not only can help those businesses to enhance their public image but also render a meaningful life of help and support.
To sum up, I think that businessmen are responsible to produce profits and to positively contribute to the society and protect the environment.
