For a long time art has been considered an essential part of all cultures in the world. However, nowadays people’s values have changed, and we tend to consider science, technology and business more important than arts.

What do you think are the causes of this?

What can be done to draw people’s attention to art?

For ages, people have seen art as an indispensable part of their culture, but this belief has been weakened by science, technology, and business. This essay discusses the possible reasons behind this trend and put forwards some plausible solutions to this problem.

Realistic benefits of these three fields, science, technology and business may be one of the main reasons why people started to pay less attention to art. In fact, there is no denying that scientific and technological breakthroughs, such as the Internet, has so many positive effects on our life that it is safe to say lives of some people, especially in the business world, would turn upside down if there were no Internet connection for a long time. By contrast, people, except for artists, writers or singers, can still enjoy their life without the need to concern about art, which is hard to accept but is the truth.

However, there are several ways to raise people's interest in art. First, governments should take steps to invest more in this field by either incentivizing artists to create more masterpieces or creating more art-related jobs. Not only do artists feel more motivated to perfect their work but the public will concentrate on this field more because some of them can make a living from it. Second, art galleries should also be opened in more places to popularize art to the masses. By doing so, it will act as an incentive for people to enjoy and value art more as there is a place for this purpose located conveniently near their house.

In conclusion, what science, technology and business have to offer may fade the importance of art in people's eyes. Nevertheless, should governments create more job opportunities, increase funding for artists, and opening more art galleries, it is still possible to bring people's attention back to art.
