WRITING TASK 2 ABOUT SHOPPING . PLEASE HELP ME WITH IT

Nowadays many people go shopping in their free time. Shopping has replaced many other activities that people used to choose as their hobby. What are the reasons for this? Is this a positive or negative development?

In the current scenario, more and more people take to shopping. Not only do residents consider shopping as one of their indispensable hobbies, but also several activities that people often do in their leisure time has been replaced by shopping. In my viewpoint, the increase of going shopping is negative. Also, I will point out some possible reasons which lead to this development.

There are some reasons resulting to this development. To embark upon, people nowadays tend to go shopping more because they are attracted by the appealing advertisement. In the advert, clothes are shown really gorgeous and brilliant, models wearing them look extremely fashionable, images which may be superficial but so amazing and incredible. Therefore, when viewers look at them, they imagine themselves how good-looking and attractive in these clothes. This makes people a motive for purchasing those items. Secondly, modern people are keen on being different. They aspire ti be admired as the trendy and chic people. In fact, a person who is dressed up smartly and fashionably may attract more attention than the one who is not. So, that may be reason why some people are so passionate about fashion, because they love making impression on other people at the first time. Indeed, these causes I mentioned explain why the tendency of going shopping has been increasing.

However, going shopping too much may bring negative consequences. Because keeping up with fashion may be considerably extravagant. Shopping can be really interesting but it is expensive to change styles constantly with fashionable tendency. For example, clothes that were already bought may no longer be used because they are out of fashion and people do not want to be old-fashioned, those clothes can be thrown away. Furthermore, shopping is also time-consuming. Instead of going shopping, a range of other activities worth being done in free time such as playing sports, dancing, learning foreign languages or meeting friends. These activities help people more healthy, knowledgeable and more sociable because they should be motivated by relationships.

To conclude, shopping is not really bad but utilizing free time for shopping may definitely bring about drawbacks. People should spend their budget and time properly on doing this.
