International travel is becoming cheaper, and countries are opening their doors to more and more tourists. Do the advantages of increased tourism outweigh disadvantages?

Travelling aboard is becoming affordable than ever before, and many nations are implementing new approaches to attract more tourists. Although international tourism has some disadvantages, I believe that negative impacts are overshadowed by its value

On the one hand, the downsides of welcoming foreign visitors are varied. The main drawback is that the environment can be seriously threatened due to facility and infrastructure development. For example, in Viet Nam many tourism companies are permitted to chop down a great area of forests to erect modern commodities such as golf courses, and hotels. Another downside of this trend is that local culture may be lost because historical sites can be replaced by modern buildings such as hotels, traditional jobs. For instant, farming is dying out as local people are forced to work in the tourism industry for a higher paid

On the other hand, I suppose the benefits of international travel would eclipse its drawbacks. Firstly, the regional economy can enormously benefit from tourism industry because more occupations will be created to accommodate the needs of tourists. Local people could have more job opportunities in hotels or restaurants to improve their living standards. Secondly, the development of tourism could promote the local culture to the rest of the world. For instant, foreign travelers learn uniqueness of local culture and share their cultural experiences once they return home, arousing curiosity about country among families and friends

In conclusion, it appears to me that the merits of international tourism is more notable than its drawbacks
