My essay:
Bettering the environment can be tackled only by the governments and large firms without indiviuals. In my own perspective, I completely disagree with that view and I think person also help to protect the environment.
To begin with, Individuals waste play a crucial role in total waste discharged into the environment. On average, each person releases approximately 1.8 kilograms of waste, especially non-recyclable plastic products, on a daily basis, contributing to the death of marine creatures and contaminating our habitats. Should each person be conscious how much garbage we released, definitely the whole society can go green. It is residents’ commuting habits that are responsible for air pollution and global warming. Particularly, private motorised vehicles, whose number is on the rise, emit greenhouse gases such as CO2 , CO, SO2, even other toxic chemical substances and, so on. Only when inhabitants’ major modes of transportation are switched to public ones will air quality be improved.
Additionally, government plays an important role in protecting environment. By introducing law and imposing pecuniary fines and other severe punishments, they enable to prevent bad consequences to invironment. For instance, Singapore, the cleanest city in the world, achieves its reputation as a result of harsh penalties against litterbugs. Moreover, environment protection should be considered by profit-oriented organizations as a part of their corporate culture. Instead of placing the priority in the first, they should have manufatured more environmentally friendly products to contribute bulid the green for the world.
In conclusion, personally I think that we should preserve the environment in any social status, any age. If we don't solve quickly, we will suffer from the anger of Mother Nature.
