Topic: International community must act immediately to ensure all nations to reduce their consumption of fossil fuels e.g. gas and oil. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

My essay

Environmental problems have not been reduced and become more degraded than before. Many people argue that community over the world should associate with together at once so that all countries force to cut down the amount of fossil fuels consumed. Personally, I completely agree with this view.

It is impossible to argue against the fact that using fossil fuels causes serious environment degradation. Starting as unmistakable effect, the combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, gas may lead to the greenhouse effect as a result of releasing carbon gas into the atmosphere. In this way, it increases the global warming, which causes the melting of glaciers in polar regions of the earth and flooding in coastal regions. More important, gas emission also is dangerous for people’s health with respiratory diseases such as asthma. Another effect is that burning of oil and gas is concerned about the phenomenon that sulphur dioxide gas given off, which produces acid rains. This water is very harmful to natures, plants, and monuments. Furthermore, the method of exploration of fossil fuels also results in destruction of ecological environment. Particularly, the probe for oil on the sea with special tools can be harmful to marine life. Thus, with these approaches, not only Mother Nature is vulnerable to burning of fossil fuels, but also human beings as well.

To tackle this problem, I think what government should do is to enact policies to encourage low fossil fuels consumption. Namely, to form a habit of using public transit, a law that discusses no-private cars on Mondays and Saturdays can be a good idea. Besides, government should promote programs to exploit alternative resources such as wind, water, and sun and take advantage of them in reality. Moreover, it is important to raise people’s environmental consciousness. These possible ways can be to save energy in households and use public transports instead such as carpools, bicycles. What is more, using modern machines also may reduce carbon emission into atmosphere. These new machines including modern cars, refrigerators are formed by save energy engines, which helps to alleviate the pollutant for environment.

In conclusion, I believe that international community need to take action on environment by reducing the dependence on fossil fuels. With feasible solutions that I mentioned above, I strongly agree that all nations can execute immediately to go green.
