Traffic jam and pollution are common problems in every nation that need to be addressed. There are some solutions to these issues and some believe that the most effective way is rising the price of petrol. I, however, think that it needs more than just this simple rise.

Increasing the price of fuels might have a negative impact on vehicles users when they buy petrol of bad quality from those who intentionally cheat on this kind of liquid. Using unqualified petrol is likely to damage all modes of transport and cause traffic congestion. Moreover, there seems to be several causes of problems related to traffic and pollution. The development of industries combined with excessive consumption of goods of people have led to environmental issues such as air pollution or water pollution. Besides, the existence of overused vehicles also results in increasing traffic and pollution problems. Because of this, the government needs more solutions to tackle this kind of problems completely.

There are some other good ways to reduce these issues. Firstly, more underpasses and overpasses should be built in big cities so that the flow of traffic can be better. Secondly, it is indispensable to encourage people to use public transport often because it is economical and safe for the environment. Last but not least, raising awareness of citizens about environmental issues can help to decline the number of accidents and other related matters.

In conclusion, a higher price of petrol is not the most effective solution to traffic and pollution problems and there are some steps need to be taken to deal with them.
