Essay & Composition Writing

Writing task 2

It is inevitable that children can sometimes make some mistakes and they need to learn good things instead of bad ones. Some argue that to help them distinguish between good and bad, punishment is indispensable. I, personally, agree with this argument and making a commitment would be a useful kind of punishment.

There are some reasons why adults need apply punishment if their children do something wrong. The first reason is that if children are not taught properly at an early age, they can commit crimes soon, easily becoming bad people when they grow up. The fact that children want to do whatever they want whether is is bad or good has an adverse impact on their personality. Therefore, when entering adulthood, they are likely to commit not only minor crimes but also extreme ones such as robbing and murdering, putting societies at high risk. Another reason for using punishment is that children are the future generation of each country and they are decisive to the country's development. Punishing children in case they do bad things helps them learn a lesson to become good citizens. A country is more likely to develop only when its citizens are intellectually and morally well- educated.

To punish appropriately, parents and teachers can use writing commitment. If children make a wrong thing, they have to write down telling their wrong action, explaining why it is wrong and make their promise. Self - criticizing is able to help them realize their mistake and memorize it as long as possible, which could probably prevent the same action later.

In conclusion, teaching children to differentiate between right and wrong early is of paramount importance. Punishment such as commitment writing can be of great use in the maturing process of children.
