The pie chart shows the percentage of winners by film genre, who award the Oscar prize in 2003 and 2008, respectively.
At the first glance, the number of the thriller films was highest in both 2003 and 2008 and the comedy film was the lowest percentage with another genre.
In 2003, nearly 50 percent of Oscar winners came from thriller film, but there is a decrease of 10 percent in 2008. Having the same tendency with the thriller motion picture, the number of the horror films in 2008 was nearly half as much (as) than that in 2003 and only was higher than the comedy film.
We can see obviously the genre films which rose the percentage from 2003 to 2008 were Science Fiction, Action and Comedy, respectively. Meanwhile, the comedy film had an unremarkable increase, Action movie witness a steep rise to 25 percent in 2008, the proportion was nearly more than double its in 2003.
The documentary and romance films in 2008 were about the same them in 2003.
