The rates of means of transport which people use to reach their work in Houston, Texas are shown by the table and the bar chart given. Rates are measured in percentages, ages and kilograms per person per kilometre.
Overall, cars with the driver the most common means of transport to work and cause more pollution than all the other means of transport combined.
In the table, the percentages of commuters travelling to work by car with nearly a half, while a very small number percentages of travellers commuting to work on foot or cycle. By comparison, public transports are the second most common forms of transport are used to get to work with 37%. People who quite like travelling on trains or buses have the highest average age of commuters. In contrast, young people love to walk or cycle to reach their work.
In the bar chart, cyclists and pedestrians are more friendly with the natural environment because no CO2 emissions are emitted from this transport. While people driving alone cause polluted with the highest CO2 emissions means of transport by 0,3 kilograms per person per kilometre. In comparison, people travelling together have fewer emissions.
