Writing task 1 - Residence of oversea students in Australia

The chart showed the number of foreign students Australia from 1982 to 2000. The foreign students came from 4 countries: Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. At a glance from the graph, more and more students came to Australia for study.

In 1982, Malaysia had the highest number of students learning in Australia, about 3000 students, whiles none of students came from Indonesia, Hong Kong or Singapore. After 28 years, there was a big change in residences of oversea students, the country with the highest figure became a fewest one, and vice versa. Indonesia students increased dramatically during the period, form zero student to peaking at 26000 in 1998, and decreased slightly to 22000 students in 2000. Similar to Singapore, the figure of student showed a considerable increase to about 20000 students in 2000. The number of Malaysian student rose gradually from 1982 to 1994, and had a remarkable increased from 10000 to nearly 20000 student in 1998. However, Malaysia became the country having the fewest student came to Australia in 2000.
