The table compares the proportion of consumer expenditure 3 categories of items in 5 different countries in 2002. Overall, food/drinks/Tobacco registered the highest data among all countries, with the highest choice in Turkey. While leisure and education were the least paid attention by this group.
Regarding Food/drinks/tobacco, Turkey hold the lion’s share of 32.14% in the percentage of consumer spending, followed by the figure for Ireland, at 28.19%. Meanwhile, the rate of expenditure in Sweden paid out for Food/drinks/tobacco was 15.77%, by half in this data for Turkey. In particular, clothing and footwear accounted for a minority of 5.4% in the Sweden’s consumer spending, as opposed to the figure for Italy, at 9%.
With respect to leisure/education, it is also mostly chosen by Turkey people, at 4.35%, which is higher than that of others countries. Surprisingly, the same number is recorded for Italy and Sweden, at 3.2% and 3.22%, respectively. Meanwhile, a similar pattern was witnessed in the data for Ireland and Spain, at 2.2 % and 1.98%, in that order.
