The maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and 2010The diagrams illustrate the differences in the Stokeford village over a period of 80 years, from 1930 to 2010.Overall, it is clear that the river Stoke, the bridge and the post office remained unchanged whereas a growing number of houses and the disappearance of the farmland could be witnessed throughout the period of time.Looking at the map more closely, one can see that the most noticeable alteration to the village after 80 years was the farmland converting into a residential area, with houses lining along the roads. Besides, the shops on the west side of the road were also displaced for residential purposes. The elementary school was innovated and doubly enlarged compared to one in 1930. The other substantial change was the transformation of the large house its vast gardens into a retirement home, which was surrounded by fewer trees than before.  The left-over part of the gardens was utilized to construct accommodation facilities and not as many trees were visible on the map as before.

Overall, the village grew substantially in size and population and became more residential in character. The primary school was enlarged, its large country home with gardens was converted into a retirement home, and the shops were replaced by housing.

In 1930, Stokeford was a traditional small village surrounded by farmland, bounded on the west side by River Stoke. In the center was a post office, with shops and houses along the main road, which runs in the north - south direction parallel to the river. Between 1930 and 2010, the town expanded considerably. New residential streets were built connecting to the main road. Housing developments were built on the farmland to the east and south of the center and also along the shores of the river. Stokeford in 2010 has no shops in its center. The only feature that was unchanged was the post office on the west side of the main road.
