Writing task 1 : Map

This is my essay. I hope I could be given some help. Have a nice day

The maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and in 2010. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The two map illustrate a village which is in Stokeford in two years, including 1930 and 2010.

In 1930, a large amount of land was used for farming as there were two areas are used for farming. In the South of the city was one area for farming, while other farmland was in the Northeast of Stokeford. Additionally, primary school and gardens were erected nearby the farmland. Clearly, there were large houses surrounded by tree in the gardens. Meanwhile, a river named River Stroke was situated to the West of the city with a bridge above.

In 2010, Stokeford experiences some dramatic changes. First, the primary school was extended and gardens was replaced by a new retirement home in which a yard was shortened to make rooms for houses. Moreover, a large amount of farmland was disappeared, giving way for other the emergence of many houses disperse along the roads. While shop was demolished entirely, post office and bridge still remained the same over a 70-year period.

In general, during the period from 1930 to 2010, it could be seen that a village in Stokeford was renovated with many new facilities. Another substantial change is the role of farmland and gardens. At first, along with farmland, gardens were dominant but then they were replaced by houses 30 years later.
