Writing Task 1: Line graph- Income differences between genders

MY WRITING

"The line graph illustrates the percentage which shows the difference in income between genders from 1978 to 2008 in 5 nations.

Overall, the difference between men and women in Japan was the most significant in 30 years. The proportion of those countries generally decreased year by year but only in Australia, it increased in the last 10 years.

According to the chart, the highest percentage which was about 48% belonged to Japan in 1978. It was followed by the percentage of US that was 33% and UK that was 29%. The proportions of France and Australia were similar at 29,5% and 29%.

Throughout 30 years, the rates of difference went down regularly in 4 countries that were Japan, US, France and UK. In 2008, it respectively were 41%, 26%, 25% and 17%. From 1987 to 1998, the percentage of Australia also fell down to 17% but there was a sudden increase from 17% to 23% in 2008.

In conclusion, the downturn of the difference in income in these nation showed a growth of people’s knowledge and the gender equality in modern society."
