Writing task 1 - line graph

The graph shows the amount of money spent on books in Germany, France,
Italy and Austria between 1995 and 2005.

The line graph compare the expenditure on books in four different countries from 1995 to 2005.

Overall, the spending on books in four coutries increased, while the spending in Germany was the highest.

In 1995, the expenditure on books in Germany was the highest, at 80 million dollars, whereas the figures for France and Italy were lower, about 55 million dollars and 50 million dollars respectively. In the same period, the amount of money spent on books in Austria was the lowest, it reached 30 million dollars.

By contrast, the spending on books in Austria rose dramatically to over 70 million dollars in 2005, a increase of about 40 million dollars. The figure for Italy was lower than the expenditures in the other countries, at around 60 million dollars by the years 2005. France saw a slight increase in the spending on books from about 55 million dollars to about 65 million dollars in 10 years between 1995 and 2005, while the figure for Germany reached the highest point at approximately 100 million dollars.
