The line graph illustrates the proportion of visitors going sightseeing at various Brighton destinations, namely the art gallery, the pavilion, the pier and the festivals, over a period of 30 years from 1980 to 2010.
In general, while the percentages of people visiting the art gallery and the festival decreased, the opposite was true for the pavilion and the pier. Besides, the proportion of tourists going to the art gallery saw the most significant change.
In 1980, the percentage of visitor going to the festival was ranked in first place at about 30 percent, making it higher than the figures for the pavilion and art gallery, at around 24 percent and 22 percent respectively. Meanwhile, bottom of the list was the proportion of people visiting the pier, at 10 percent.
Over the period, the proportion of the visitors going to the pavilion rose to around 30 percent in 2010. Likewise, a considerable increase to approximately 22 percent was seen in the figure for the pier.
