Writing Task 1 in IELTS

Topic: the chart shows the percentage of female members of parliament in 5 European countries from 2000 to 2012.
The graph illustrates the proportion of women working at parliament between 2000-2012 in five European countries. Overall, it can be seen that female rates rose over the period of 12 years from 2000.
Of the five countries only one, UK, improved its rating significantly over the period from just below 5%, the lowest rating, in 2000 to over 20%, in 2012. The actual figures rose to meet Belgium's one, which had a better start by the point of 17%, rising gradually to 23% in the first four years of the century. The number of females in Belgium saw a slowly rise between 2004-2008 to approximately 25%, and dropped practically to be equal with the figures from UK.
The other three countries followed the similar patterns with number from France on the rise from 25% to above 30% and Germany climbing from under 35% to 37%. Italy took the first place from Germany at the end of the period, with its humble start by 27% to approximately 40%.

The graph illustrates the proportion of women working at parliament (Is there only one parliament? The phrase "working at parliament" is not an accurate description of the graph. There may be many administrative assistants, aides, lawyers, writers, researchers and other workers at parliament. Some of these workers are women. These are not shown
