The bar chart illustrates the proportion of men and women teachers teaching at six genres of school in the UK in 2010.
A glance at the chart, it is noticeable that the number of female teachers in the pre-school and primary school was higher than that of other kinds of school. Besides that, there was an upward trend in the percentage of men teachers at higher level of school.
Beginning with percentage of women teachers, in nursery school and primary school, there were about 90% and that was 9 times higher than that of men teachers in the same types of education. However, at university, the proportion of female teachers was 30% and which was the lowest rates in six types of school.
On the other hand, the male teachers occupied the small percentage that was lower than 10% in pre-school and primary school. Nevertheless, there were 70% of the men teaching at university and that was two times higher than the number of women teachers.
