Overall, Singaporean men spent more time at school than women did. Additionally, the educational attainment of Singaporean adults increased over that ten-year period.
The average years that the men spent at school rose steadily from more than 8 to nearly 12 years throughout a ten year period. Whereas, the women spent only 8 years at school in 2000 and 2002. After that, the number of years that women spent at school increased slightly to around 9 years.
In 2000, Master and University qualification shared 7.5% and 8.3% respectively. However, these percentages significantly increased to 30.31% and 32.13% respectively in 2010. By contrast, Secondary and Primary school qualification decreased dramatically to 15.2% and 2.1% respectively in ten years.
