The table shows the spending for various goods in Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Turkey in 2002. Overall, these five countries spent most on food, drinks and tobacco. On the other hand, the lowest spending could be seen on leisure and education.

The cost of food, drinks and tobacco was 15.77% in Sweden in 2002, while Spain and Italy spent 18.80% and 16.36% respectively. Otherwise, Italy spent the most on clothing and footwear with 9.00% in 2002. The remaining countries spent a quite similar budget for clothing and footwear, around 6%.

In contrast to these two items above, all five countries spent a small amount for leisure and education with the highest at just 4.35% in Turkey. Spain spent the least on leisure and education with 1.98% in 2002.
