Writing task 1

The given chart compares three different age groups in terms of difficulties when migrating to other countries.

Overall, it is clear that the more people get older, the less they find it a problem to socialize and have accommodation. Acquisition of local language, by contrast, represents more of a daunting task to the older age group.

Regarding people who age 18-34, forming new friendships justifies 46% of their problems, 10% higher than that for middle age group and doubles that for old-aged adults who are over 55. Meanwhile, having a shelter comes second at 40% as a challenge for young adults in a foreign country, nearly the same as the figure for 35-54 age group. However, again the proportion of this problem only accounts for over one-fifth considering people who age 55 plus.

While native language only affects young people as a problem at 29%, it constitutes a real trouble to the old-aged adults. Over a half of their struggle comes from acquiring local language, 19% higher than the figure for people from 35-54 years old. It is noticeable that middle-aged respondents experience three issues at more or less the same level, with the figure for problems of friend-making, accommodation and language are at 36%, 39%, 35% respectively.
