The line graph illustrates the amount of four different kinds of meat consumed by European people over a period of 25 years. As can be seen, fish was the least common choice of European citizens while chicken was consumed the most. It is also noticeable that the consumption of fish, lamb and beef saw a decrease in comparison with the significant increase of chicken. In 1979, only 60 grams of fish was eaten per person per week. During the period shown, this figure experienced a downward trend. The similar trend can be seen when we look at the consumption of lamb. Starting at the point of 150 grams, the amount of lamb declined to 80 grams after 25 years. Although beef had the highest starting point of more than 200 grams, after a fluctuation around 180 and 250 from 1979 to 1989, there was a considerable drop to over 100 in 2004. The trend for chicken were noticeably different. The amount of chicken consumed stood at nearly 150 in 1979. The year 2004 witnessed a significant increase of 100 grams per person per week in the consumption of chicken.
