Writing task 1

The given charts compare the changes of seven categories of films that were awarded Oscar in 2003 and 2008.

Overall, Thriller films accounted for the largest proportion in both years, while the opposite was true for a Comedy film. Another feature is that the changes of other categories were slight.

It can be seen from the pie chart that the Thriller film which awarded Oscar accounted for a high proportion about nearly a half in 2003 and decreased to a third of graph in 2008. Following then by Action film which accounted for a third of the total rest in 2003. However, it increased significantly to around 33% in 2008.

Science Fiction and Horror films saw a slight increase compared to 2003 and increased by 5% for each, while Documentary film falls to a half than those in 2003. Besides, the data for Comedy and Romance films that won Oscar stayed remained.
