Writing task 1

The given table dedicates the proportion of consumer spending on different items in five countries namely Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey in the years 2002. It can be clearly seen that the appreciable distance between the food/drinks/tobacco and another catalog.

In five countries, the majority of expenditure was food/drinks/tobacco. In Turkey and Ireland, the figures peaked respectively at 32,14% and 28,91%. The proportion of other countries is more than 15%. The second- ranked of spending was clothing/ footwear. In this catalog, the number of each country is more than 5%. Especially, In Italy, this item accounted for 9%. Lastly, Leisure/ education was the smallest in spending. The percentage of this catalog from 1,98% to 4,35% which was slightly number than other catalogue. Because in 5 countries, people were made allowance in this aspect, they didn't have to pay any expenses.

In conclusion, the rank of consumer spending in five countries in 2002 was respectively food/drinks/tobacco, clothing/ footwear, and leisure/ education.
