The column graph describes how much money was generated by 3 different film genres- romance, comedy, and action/ horror- for a studio in Hollywood. Overall, while the income earned by romance movies and comedies dropped, there was an increase in the figure for action/horror films. In general, romance movie sales were the highest in 1970, whereas action/horror movies were more popular than any other genres after 3 decades.
As can be seen from the graph, both the percentage of revenue by romance movies and comedies decrease from 1970 to 2000. Romance movies accounted for more than half of the money generated before plummeting to just under 10% by the end of the period. Meanwhile, in regards to comedy sales, which started at approximately 33% in 1970, the figure slightly increased by around 2% a decade later. However, it then gradually fell to exactly 30% by 2000.
On the other hand, in the beginning, the percentage of income earned from actin/horror movies stood at just below 10%. Subsequently, the figure witnessed a slight growth by 1980 before it skyrocketed and reached a peak of around 37% in the following 20 years.
