The diagram shows the length of time that UK cizitens spent on telephoning in different ways between 1995 and 2002. Overall, local fixed line accounted for the highest data throughout the period; however, it still decreased gradually toward the end. In contrast, national and international fixed line as well as mobile calls rose dramatically.
As can be seen from the graph, local fixed line began at above 70 billions minutes in 1995. Subsequenly, it experienced a sharp fall to around 70 billions after it reached a peak at 90 billions in 1999.
Regarding national and international fixed line, its data in 1995 was half as much as that of local fixed line, under 40 billions. Then, it increased gradually and finished at 60 billions at the end of the period. Meanwhile, the figure for mobile calls accounted for the lowest within three categories, about three billions in 1995. After that, it was the most sigficant increase with the rise by around 40 billions and ended at under 50 billions in 2002.
