Overall, in 5 countries, the residents consumption had increased over 6 years with both products. Therefore, it was not surprised that the sale of fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 2004 was much more than in 1999.
With fairtrade-labelled coffee, we can see that the sales in UK has increased from 1.5 millions of euros to 20 millions. It was a big movement of the United Kingdom. Switzerland is the second country that have a huge change from 3 millions in 1999 to 6 millions of euros in 2004. Denmark,Beligium and Sweden had a slight grew up, in 1999,three countries saled in order 1.8 millions, 1 million and 0.8 million. In 2004 it was 2 millions, 1.7 millions, 1 million, respectively.
The last but not least, the sales of fairtrade-labelled bananas. The sale in Switzerland, UK and Beligium rocket to 15 millons by 47 millions, 1 millions to 5.5 millions and 0.6 million by 4 millions, respectively. Likewise, Denmark and Sweden, there was a decrease of 2 millions to 0.9 million, 1.8 millions to 1 million,from 1999 to 2004, respectively.
