Writing task 1

The table compares the proportion of national consumer spending on different items in 5 different parts of the world in 2002.

Overall, in all five countries , citizens tended to spend most of their money on food/drink/tobacco and significantly less on clothing/footwear and leisure/education.

Of the five countries, Turkish spent most on food/drink/tobacco with 32.14%. Likewise, Ireland spent 28,91% on this item compared to 18.80% by the Spain, 16.36% by the Italy and 15.77% by the Sweden.

In contrast to the percentage of consumer enpenditure on food/drink/tobacco , clothing/footwear and leisure/education was lower than a tenth. The Italy spent most of all five countries : 9% on clothing/footwear. In Turkey,Spain,Ireland,Italy spent only 6.63%, 6.51% , 6.43% , 5.40%, respectively. On the other hand, the average percentage that residents spent on leisure/education wasn't exceed 5%. In Sweden, Italy, Ireland , and Spain was only 3.22%, 3.2% , 2.21%, and 1.98% , respectively. Even in Turkey people spent 4.35% more than other countries compared to, but still less than 5%
