Essay & Composition Writing

Writing taks 2. Thank you so much!

Topic: It is more important for school chilldren to learn about local history than world history. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

My essay:

In recent times, some commentators argue that children should be taught about the history of their country rather than the history of the world. In my point of view, I strongly disagree with this point because by growing well in globalised world, children have two learn both of local and national history.

On the one hand, it is essential that young generations have knowledge of local history. Firstly, the country’s history documented much value of cultures. Therefore, by being given these values, children will have fascinating insights into the past of their region. A typical example of this is Vietnam where each child always is reminded to remember the independent day 2/9/1945 in order to they can understand and more appreciate the value liberty that is made by the sacrifices of Vietnam’s soldiers. Secondly, history as a subject about past mistakes of ancestors. Every mistake can bring a useful lesson for a child, this assists them to draw a conclusion so that they can encounter similar circumstances in the future.

On the other hand, foreign ‘s history is becoming a big concern. Firstly, as the world has become globalized, the need for communication will increase. Therefore, if school curricula’ national history is designed for teaching children at an early stage, they can have a broader perspective about the world so that they can easily communicate with friends of other countries. In addition, having a knowledge of famous scientists in the past all over the earth, children can be inspired in their studies. For example, when children know how Edison invented a bulb, they will be encouraged to study physically so that they can invent similar things.

To sum up, all the existing data has provided a concrete foundation that the study of local history should always be paralleled to that of world history.
