Writing stories in fragments ...

Hi

I often come across short stories, novels in which a lot of the sentences are actually only fragments rather than grammatically complete sentences.

Is there any name for such writing?

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks, Clive.

How do you find novels written in such style?

I was reading The Woman Who Walks into Doors a few days ago, but couldn't enjoy it a lot, because most of it is written in fragments rather than complete sentences.
