Writing sounds

just thought with all the expresional writing going on these days, i have never seen the word to sound the sizzling sound!... if that makes sense Emotion: indifferent

help because i would like to write it and i haven't got a clue.

I was going to suggest that 'sizzle' is onomatopoeic, but then I may have misunderstood the question.

You`re right, "sizzle" is a perfectly onomatopoeic word. And I know "ssss" is in no way a word, but I think it can imitate a sound in nature, and I didn`t know how else to say this at the time. I imagined a situation in which anonymous wanted, for example, to write a comic book about , say , a cooking event and pictured the frying pan, the butter in it, next to which you`d usu
