The given table shows statistics about the rate of the population who are 65 years old and over in Canada, Germany, the UK in 1988, 2000 and makes predictions in 2030. On the whole, the population of the elderly is expected to make up more in all three countries over the course of 42 years starting from 1988. Especially, the percentage of the older in Germany reaches a peak in three countries and will remain the highest position in 2030, while the lowest proportion can be seen in the UK through all the years.
Between 1988 and 2000 the proportion of the aging population of Canada and Germany went up similarly by 5% to 21% and 25% respectively. Meanwhile, in the Uk, the rate rose slightly by 1% from 14% to 15%.
In 2030, it is planned that the percentage of the population aged 65 plus will grow by 5% in all three countries. The statistics are forecast to reach 26% in Canada, 30% in Germany, and 20% in the UK.
