Motivation to join the MBA program The role of a general manager is a tough one. It requires lots of energy, ability to work under pressure, as well as leadership, time management and analytical skills. On the other hand, this type of job offers a stable salary, an opportunity to constantly improve one's skills and a chance of balancing work life with personal life. I look forward to pursuing this type of career about five years after obtaining my MBA because this type of career matches up with my priorities. As an installment manager at TBC Bank in the past, for year and a half, and now as a supervisor at Coca - Cola Bottlers Georgia for almost two years, I have developed a solid foundation in leadership, teamwork, communication and motivation skills. Throughout the years of professional experience, I have matured, learned a lot about myself and learned where my strengths and weaknesses lie. However, while these years have given me the invaluable experience, I feel that I have reached a plateau in developing skills necessary to achieve my ultimate career goal of general management. I have always been a passionate person whose biggest desire is the overcoming of challenges. I feel that now is the right time to face yet another challenge and going to business school definitely represents that challenge. An effective manager of the 21st century should be able to understand the business environment, recruit people that will become successful employees and benefit company, find the best way to form a challenging organizational vision, sense and respond to the market, distribute the workplace duties among employees, set realistic goals and measure results. I reckon that the education that I will get from XYZ business school will assist me to get where I want faster and smoothly. Moreover, I have always been interested in personal growth, therefore living independently in a foreign country for quite a while, and meeting and studying with people from different countries and continents, sharpening leadership and analytical skills during the MBA program will definitely assist my personal growth. Furthermore, it is extremely hard to get spotted by employers. There are a lot of individuals in my country with MBA degrees and competition is huge. The MBA degree from such well known European university as XYZ will definitely make my resume shine as well as increase my marketability for future jobs. There are several reasons why I chose to apply to XYZ business school MBA program. Firstly, the curriculum seems really well structured. I think it encompasses all the key areas of business that every businessman should master. Secondly, the length of the program seems really convenient to me. I do not plan to leave my family for two years; therefore an instensive 11 month program seems to be a perfect fit. Finally, I checked out a few videos of lectures on the internet, they had a really great impact on me and it was obvious that the professionalism of the faculty is really high. An experience gained from working in two big companies of my country, great ability to interact easily with foreign people, solid leadership skills. I will bring these qualities to XYZ MBA program.
