Writing Improvement

Hi. I have a suggestion and a question. Is it possible to come to the 'rich editor' version of 'Ask a question' text box by default? It's much easier to boldface the parts that are vague and need to be emphasized in rich editor.
And my question is: How can I improve my writing without a teacher? I write something and I want to evaluate it. Is it possible at all?
That's really amazing to have knowledgeable volunteers answering the questions. Thank you all. You do a great job here.
