Writing ielts task 2

Please help me correct this

Some people think that newly built houses should follow the style of old houses in local areas. Others think that people should have freedom to build houses of their own style. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Houses are places where people be, so their shapes is very important. It is said that new houses should be constructed based on traditional style, while others frown upon this opinion claiming that it is better for them to design whatever they like. I personally agree with the later statement, as reasons for both views will be presented in this essay.

In this era of globalization, it is easy to lose one’s origin and local culture. As to preserve cultural resources, such traditional-style buildings are required. The local culture, habit and custom may be presented in the way the house is designed. And those buildings can convey some educational lessons about the local community, as a result, making it an attractive place for tourism. Additionally, those destinations, iconic buildings not only put the country’s name on the world map but also attract visitors contributing to the growth of the nation’s economy.

However, I believe that it is people’s choices to design their homes. And it is against human rights to decide the style of place they want to live. They may end up finding their whole life unhappy and irritating for living in buildings against their wills. In addition, I think that as people are free to build houses of their own style , the community is surely more diverse. For example, foreigners are often impressed when they first come to Da Nang city, due to various styles of buildings.

In conclusion, although some people say that the design and construction of modern and traditional buildings should be the same, I personally believe that the owners should be allowed to decide the way their own house will be built.
