The given bar chart gives information about the number of Japanese travellers who visited overseas from 1985 to 1995 and the line graph illustrates the proportion of Japanese tourists travelled to Australia in the same period of time.

Overall, it can be seen that there was a gradual increase in the number of Japanese people going abroad for travelling over the period shown. Moreover, Australia's share of Japan's tourist market rose slightly between 1985 and 1995.

In the year 1985, about 5 million Japanese tourists travelled in foreign countries. This figures then went up steadily and stood at more than 10 million in 1990. From this point, the number of Japanese travellers fluctuated and reached a peak of over 15 million in the final year.

Turning to the line graph, Australia accounted for only 2% of Japan's tourist market share in 19985. The growth of about 3% in the percentage of Japanese visitors coming to Australia witnessed in 1989. This proportion hit the highest point of over 6% in 1994, after decreasing gently to exactly 6% at the end of the period.
