The bar chart shows the gender distribution of teachers in six education systems in the UK in 2010.

In the first three types of education, females outnumbered males. Females teachers made up a particularly large proportion of the teacher group from nursery to primary school. In both systems the number of women was larger than 90% while the proportion for men was under 10%. Moving on to secondary school, the gender gap became smaller considerably which was 54% and 46% for females and males.

From college to university, mens gradually became higher in proportion versus womens. In college, the percentage for both genders was 50%. Furthermore, in private training institute and university the proportion of males teacher increased from 54% to 70% while females teachers was not major anymore.

Overall, the chart shows that the higher education systems the higher number of males teacher and vice versus women was major teachers for lower systems.
