Writing for Penguins

A comedian is to make a spoof version of the US box office hit wildlife documentary March of the Penguins.
Bob Saget, best known in the US as an ex-host of TV show Best of America's Funniest Home Videos, will write and direct Farce of the Penguins.
Saget got the idea when he did his own narration while watching the original, which follows penguins on the trek to their Antarctica breeding ground.
In the spoof, a racy commentary will be dubbed over authentic and fake footage.
"The idea for this came organically.
"I was watching the March movie at a screening at my friend's house, and I couldn't stop doing the voice-overs of the penguins." Documentary send-up
A poster depicting penguins wearing women's underwear below the slogan "What happens in Antarctica, stays in Antarctica" appeared in US entertainment publications.
"The Penguin film, and wildlife films in general, have been so hugely popular lately, that they can certainly use some serious spoofing."
March of the Penguins is France's most successful film at the US box office.
It is tipped to be shortlisted for the Oscar feature-length documentary category.
Saget also starred in the 1980s US TV sitcom Full House, which also featured the then-infant twins Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen. He recently appeared in the documentary The Aristocrats, in which 100 well-known comedians tell the same obscene joke that has been shared privately by comics since vaudeville days.
The March of the Penguins is released in the UK on 9 December. Story from BBC

Okay, when I was a kid, my fave show was Wild Kingdom - brought to you by Mutual of Omaha, of course - and the best episode was when Marlin's Perkin's hapless assistant Bob is wrestling the anaconda in the swamp, while Marlin blithely narrates. "The mighty anaconda can consume an adult pig" while Bob thrashes in the muck behind him. It was a total Leslie Nielson moment.

"March of the Penguins" is a wildlife documentary the way "Hooked on Classics" is classical music.

"March of the Penguins" was initially done with the sexual angle in mind, if I remember correctly. The American producers decided to lose the risque commentary, focus on the reality of the penguin's amazing story, and bring in Morgan Freeman to do the narration.

Considering that we were watching what was intended to be a risque sexual comedy, and I'm not surprised that Saget came up with
